Source: Daily Ardmoreite MARIETTA -- Services for Mattie L. Meeks, 96, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Edward Rowls and the Rev. Glen Clary officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Born Nov. 23, 1903, at Enville to Andrew and Lona Vinson Willis, she died April 27, 2000, at a Marietta health care facility. She married Millard T. Meeks Feb. 28, 1924, at the Marshall-Love County line. He preceded her in death in February 1962. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Meeks lived most of her life in Love County. She was a housewife and a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include two sons, David L. Meeks, Mesquite, Texas, and Millard Meeks, Broken Arrow; two daughters, Louise Orr, Sulphur, and Sue Hyde, Atoka; one sister, Grace Amyx, Houston; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Bearers will be Carl Mac Eillis, Bill Ferguson, Lynn Hockersmith, Lance Hockersmith, Raymond Self and Winston Warthen. Honorary bearers are W.T. Warthen, Pete Flatt and Gilbert Willis. Services are under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
