Amarillo Globe-News December 8, 2006 Wendell Elzy Kindle, 71, of Amarillo died Wednesday, December 6, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with the Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Kindle was born January 21, 1935, in Childress County to Elzy Frank and Ida Lee Kindle. He moved to Amarillo 42 years ago from Childress. Mr. Kindle was drafted into the Army twice. He worked for Connally Implement Supply and Hilton Industries and retired from Sunbelt Pump and Supply. He was also active in farming and ranching. Mr. Kindle married Francis Lewis on April 11, 1964, in Amarillo. He loved cooking out for his family. He was also fond of traveling to area lakes and to New Mexico in his fifth wheel. He was a loving husband and father and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister; Marlene Mitchell. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Kindle Black and husband Skip of Amarillo; two sons, Paul Kindle and wife Michele of Amarillo and Lee Kindle and wife Julia of Canyon; two sisters, Alma Masterson of Amarillo and Janelle McGhee of Huntsville; three brothers, Mike Kindle and Ronnie Kindle, both of Amarillo, and Stan Kindle of Franklin; four grandchildren, Justin Black, Karlissa Black, Kaitlyn Kindle and Connor Kindle; and two step-grandchildren, Dustin Thomas and Carle Thomas.
