Nancy Marlene "Molly" Mitchell, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Born Oct. 30, 1931, in Childress County, the former Nancy Marlene Kindle and Dick Mitchell were married Feb. 2, 1951. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator, also for Gate City Electric Co-op and at Fox Clinic. Mrs. Mitchell was very optimistic, enjoyed her friends and dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her - especially family. She was a Christian, a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Childress and was devoted to her Bible. Survivors include her husband, Dick Mitchell of Childress; a daughter, Pamela Ann Smothermon and husband Ronnie of Odessa; a son, Richie Mitchell and wife Raydella of Borger; six grandchildren, Chace Mitchell and wife Shawntae, Steven Mitchell, Bobby Mitchell, Mandy Mitchell, Chad Smothermon and Amy McCarty and husband Sandy; two great-grandchildren, Kalee McCarty and Chace Deshawn Mitchell; two sisters, Alma Lee Masterson of Amarillo and Nell McGhee and husband Woody of Huntsville; and four brothers, Stan Kindle and wife Barbara of Frankford, Wendle Kindle and wife Frances, Mike Kindle and Ronnie Kindle, all of Amarillo.
