Bio

Charles Travis Bonner, youngest child of Paul Young Bonner and Lula May Willard, was born at Bonnerville, Texas on July 11, 1928. He attended Fairfield Schools. Travis married Dora Elizabeth Ivy, on June 21, 1952. They made their home east of Fairfield on US 84 next door to her parents. Travis was a rancher, carpenter, and even kept bees. They were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield. They were parents of two children: James Travis and Elizabeth Ann. Dora died on May 13, 1981. Travis spent the next fifteen years missing her until his death on November 29, 1996. ======================================= Corsicana Daily Sun, Saturday, November 30, 1996 Charles Travis Bonner Charles Travis Bonner, 68, of Fairfield, died Nov. 29, 1996, in Fairfield. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Steve Stover, assistant pastor of First Baptist Church of Fairfield, officiating. Burial will follow at Bonner Cemetery in Freestone County. Pallbearers include Homer Paul Bonner, Andy Bonner, Gary Moore, Tom Anderson, Don Tolar and Jody Bonner Mr. Bonner was born in Bonnerville in Freestone County July 11, 1928. He was a carpenter and a rancher. Mr. Bonner is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Bonner Barnes and David Wiley Barnes of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law James Travis Bonner and Mary Alice Bonner of Fairfield; and grandchildren, Jamie Bonner, Allison Bonner, Nancy Elizabeth Barnes and David Barnes, all of Fairfield; brother, Carl Y. Bonner of Fairfield and sister Pauline Lambert of Fairfield. Mr. Bonner was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Ivy Bonner and brothers, Ben Bonner and Earnest [sic] Bonner.
