There is a graveside service at 2 p.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. William McNatt officiating. Son of Matt Tapp and Mary Jane “Molly” Hogan Tapp, he was born Oct. 30, 1914 in Hunt County. In May 1946 he married Ida Lee McClain in Greenville. He graduated from Wolfe City High School. Mr. Tapp was an employee of the Civil Service serving at Pearl Harbor. He was parts manager for East Texas Distributors. He attended Grace Presbyterian Church. Surviving are brothers Hollis Tapp of Greenville and Glen Tapp of Cash; brother-in-law Jimmy McClain of Greenville; sister-in-law Dorothy Foote of Greenville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 28, 1997; four brothers and three sisters. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
