Bio

Phyllis was born to Cora (Nordhougen) Medhus and Sigurd Medhus in Leeds, ND. She moved with her family including younger brother and sister to Portland, OR. in 1938. Phyliss graduated from Grant High School in 1943 and attended Oregon State College. She married Richard Glen Detrick on Aug. 31, 1945. They had one daughter, Donna June, in 1948. Phyllis worked as a legal secretary, bookkeeper and office manager for several companies in Portland before she moved to Alaska where she worked in Ketchikan, Prudhoe Bay and Anchorage where she retired. Richard died in Medford, OR. in 2010. Phyllis is survived by her brother Sigurd Duane Medhus of Henderson, NV., and her sister Audrey Medhus Sorg of Portland, OR. and many nieces and nephews. Burial was in Leeds, ND.
