Peggy Marie Blair Herndon Parrish passed away Aug. 5, 2016 in Pocatello, Idaho. Peggy was born November 16, 1929 to John & Wilma Blair. She married Paul Herndon and they had two children, Sue Knittel and Paul Herndon Jr.(Robyn). Later she married Gene Parrish with this union she was blessed to gain three step-children and a step grandchild. Peggy is also survived by her Grandchildren, Lisa, Greg and Heather,and a bundle of great-grandchildren. Peggy liked to root for the underdog and helped so many that needed a hand in her long colorful lifetime. She loved animals, especially her little dogs. She found beauty in dainty things, like hummingbirds, butterflies and porcelain dolls. The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice and Brookdale Assisted living for the care, compassion and love they shared. A Celebration of Life open house will be from 2-4:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her daughter’s home, 1610 Roy St., Pocatello, Idaho. ∼ Peggy Marie Blair Herndon Parrish passed away August 5, 2016 in Pocatello, Idaho. (Obituary from Davis-Rose Mortuary, published in Idaho State Journal, Aug 7-9, 2016) Peggy Marie Blair was born November 16, 1929 in Miami, Gila County, Arizona to John Ernest Blair (1904~1937) and Wilma Shirley Roberts (Blair) 1911~1989. During the start of the Great Depression, her father John, along with his brother, Ed moved their families to Happy Camp, Siskiyou County, CA where they built family cabins on Indian Creek near the Roberts Ranch, the home of Wilma's parents, Thomas and Amanda Tanner Roberts. During that time Peggy's brother John Ernest Jr. and sister Eleanor Mae were born. By 1935 the Blair families moved to Como, Nevada for a few months where Peggy began school in a one-room school house with her cousin, Ruth. From there the families returned to Superior, Arizona to work in the Magma Copper Mine. One month after Peggy's younger sibling, Darwin Wayne Blair was born, their father, John died in a Phoenix, Arizona hospital in June 1937 from complications resulting from a mine accident. Wilma moved with her children to southern California to be near her sister and family. In 1941 Wilma married Charles Allen Smith making their home in the Mojave Desert, finally moving to American Falls, Idaho. Wilma & Charlie had 3 children together, Shirley, Barbara & Harry Smith. Peggy Marie was married to Paul Taylor Herndon from 1948 to 1960 and they had two children, Janie Sue (Knittel) and Paul Taylor Herndon Jr. In 1967, Peggy married Gene Parrish. Gene passed away in 1993. Peggy died on Friday, August 5, 2016, age 86 in Pocatello, Idaho Bio written by cousin, Ruth I. Blair Miller
