Bio

Son of William C Redden and Elizabeth Sucher HARDIN ----Stephen Ray Redden, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Redden of three miles east of Hardin, was found dead Monday at the home of his brother-in-law, Steve Redding. Cause of death is being determined by autopsy, according to James Mitchell, county deputy coroner. County Attorney Douglas W. Freeman said the investigation has been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Death occurred on the Crow Indian Reservation. Redden was a member of the Crow Tribe. He was born Nov. 4, 1952, in Hardin and attended Hardin schools. After graduating from Hardin High School in May 1971, he worked the summer for Burlington Northern Railroad, then became part-owner and operator of Body Shop in Hardin. Survivors include the parents; four brothers, Dennis and William both of Hardin, Ernest of Fort Smith and Lyle L. Redden, Billings; and five sisters, Mrs. Steven Redding, Mrs. Robert Vandersloot and- Mrs. Tony Buechler, all of Hardin, Mrs. John Lucero of San Jose, and Mrs. Edward Feller of Laurel. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Bulks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Tom Hastings will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Hardin.. The Billings Gazette 2-22-1972
