Bio
Mrs. Thornton was born to the late Charlie Edward Walker and Roxie Ann (Ivy) Walker. She died in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. She attended Ora and Huntington schools and worked as an aide at the Lufkin State School for 17 years. Mrs. Thornton was known for her memory, especially names and significant dates. She was a member of Huntington Church of Christ. Her services will be in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington. Interment will follow in the Jonesville Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 47 years, Charles Bernard Thornton; brothers, Loyd Walker, Berlon Walker and R.B. Walker; and sisters, Pauline Colwell and Jeffie McCoy. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sereta Thornton and Steve and Debra Thornton; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ernest Boyett; grandsons and their wives, Blake Thornton, Clay and Melissa Thornton, Brian and Kristyn Boyett, and Stuart Thornton; granddaughters and their husbands, Stacee and Adam Andrews, Emily and Ryan Watson, Aleisha and Stanley Zavala, and Courtney Thornton; 16 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Joe Harris; her sitter and caregiver, Deanna Morish; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
