KEARNEY — Margaret A. Hubl, 89, of Kearney, formerly of Trenton, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at St. John's Good Samaritan Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton. Herrmann-Jones Funeral Home in Trenton is in charge of the arrangements. She was born July 10, 1927, in Lawrence to Albert and Clara (Jirousek) Janda. She was raised on a farm east of Lawrence and graduated in 1944 from Lawrence High School. On June 14, 1950, she married Henry J. Hubl in Deweese and moved to Hitchcock County where she spent her married life with Henry on the farm south of Trenton. They retired in Trenton in 1994. Margaret and Henry opened their arms and their hearts to Dan and Deb and raised them as their very own after a tragic accident took the lives of their parents. They joined our family at age 3 in February 1969. Margaret loved to quilt. She made many quilts, including one for each of her children and grandchildren. She spent every Monday quilting with the ladies at the United Methodist Church. She also had a love of cooking and baking. Kolaches, cinnamon rolls and potato dumplings were just a few of her specialties. Margaret was a member of St. James Church and St. James Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; her sister, Eleanor Petr; and her brothers, Theodore, John and Edward Janda. She is survived by her children and spouses, Larry and Debra Hubl of Trenton, Jean and Stan Willmschen of Pringle, S.D., Betty and Paul Brennan of Grand Junction, Colo., Deborah and Steve Tomlinson of Bennington and Daniel and Mary Jo Hill of Kearney; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild who will arrive in December; sister-in-law, Rose Janda of Lawrence; and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
