Bio
Mary Ellen Harris Higdon, age 67 left this earth and walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday July 4, 2016. She was at the University of Arkansas Medical Center, Little Rock, AR when she lost her hard fought battle with cancer Mary was born May 8, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to Statuel and Nannie Anderson Harris. She worked for many years at a local bank and in later years as an activities coordinator at a nursing home in Dallas. When she and Marc retired they moved to Harrison, AR. She loved to cook, trying new recipes and sharing with others. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading, traveling and spending time outdoors. Mary was a member of the First Assembly of God, Harrison, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, two nephews and three infant sisters. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Marcus Dean Higdon. Sisters Frances Jones, Broken Arrow, OK, Anna Campbell, Grand Prairie, TX, Dorothy Dirnberger, New Hamburg, MO, Donna Howard, Sulphur Springs, TX, Martha Stelly (David), Wills Point, TX, brother Joe Harris (Alice), Severna Park, MD, many nieces and nephews, all loved her dearly and will forever miss her. Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Selvidge officiating. Visitation will be held preceding the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Harrison. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
