Thomas was a Medic in the Civil War. According to a book entitled 'Lamar Rifles', Thomas stopped by his old home place of Bedford VA and was gravely injured using a 'drawing knife'. He died from the wounds. According to 'Lamar Rifles', he was single. ____________________________________ Thomas H. Franklin was a private in 58th Reg. , Co. B, Va. Infantry. However, he could have served as a First Lieutenant then Captain in 58th Reg., Co. D, Va. Infantry.
