Louie Donald Brown, 78, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with David McLean officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was a life member of the VFW in New Haven, Conn. He served his country as a fireman in the Navy during World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal, American Area and Good Conduct medals. He loved boating and picnicking with his family. He was a creative man of many talents. Mr. Brown was also a member of Jehovah's Witness Quail Creek Congregation. Survivors include his former spouse and mother of his children, Frances Rose Brown; four daughters, Helen Brown Murratti Pion and husband Henry of New Britain, Conn., Karen Calvert of Amarillo, Susan Maturo and husband Domenic of East Haven, Conn., and Donna Sullivan and husband David of Amarillo; a son, William Allen Brown and wife Lisa of Odessa; a special friend and caregiver, Maggie Padilla and husband Junior of Amarillo; 31 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
