Mary La-Juana Riggins, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in Shawnee, Okla. Mrs. Riggins was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Gilmer, Texas, to Bird and Beulah Brown. Mary and Jodi married Aug. 30, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 66 years and raised six children. Jodie was an over-the-road truck driver, and Mary raised all six children much of the time. She had her hands full! Mary was a stay-at-home mom. She loved the Lord, her family and loved life. Mary received a certificate of completion for state approved basic nurse's aide, an occupational skills training course in Athens, Texas. She also received a diploma in recognition of the successful completion of "Programming in Cobol". She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bird Allen Brown Jr. and Ronald Dale Brown Survivors include her husband, Jodie Buryl Riggins of McLoud; a daughter; Glenda Niblett and husband Don of Tahlequah; four sons, Gordon Allen Riggins, Mark Lyn Riggins and David Lee Riggins and wife Jaylene, all of McLoud, and Gary Wayne Riggins and wife Son Hi of Korea; five granddaughters, Glynnis Kay Pappas, Mison Ann Riggins, La-Juana Maxine Watt, Consuela Meono, and Leah May Howe; four grandsons, Harold Shane Golden, Tom Jodie Riggins, Jodie Wallace, and Gordon Allen Riggins Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren Contributor: Don/Cindy Morris Rust (47440360) ******************* Interment: 1/28/2014 age 82
