3/2/2012- The Daily Oklahoman: KINGSTON: Mitchell Angelo Tucker went to be with the Lord on 2/29/2012. He was born 9/15/1922 in Haworth, OK. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie, his parents, 7 siblings, and his grandson 2LT Joe L. Cunningham. He is survived by his sisters, Alta Weeks and Faye DeVore, his daughter, Linda Tucker McBride (Jim) of Kingston, OK., his son, Kirk A. Tucker of Kingston, OK., grandchildren, Lance Irons (Tamara), Lana Irons, and his great granddaughter, Lailey Irons, all of Oklahoma City. Mitch was a Staff Sergeant in WWII, a decorated Veteran, who served as a member of the legendary Merrill's Maruaders and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among other distinguished service medals. He was a Mason, serving as Grand Master at the Wheatland Masonic Lodge for many years. Mitch retired from FAA and moved to Lake Texoma in 1975, with his wife Jackie. Mitch was known for his hard work ethic. He built the home they lived in for nearly 4 decades. According to his family, he could fix anything. In the words of his beloved grandson Joe Lee, "Pa can fix it". He was a member of the Agnew Avenue Baptist church in OKC, and then Lakeview Baptist church on Soldier Creek at Texoma. He served as a Sunday school teacher and head of Deacons at Lakeview for many years, and as a volunteer firefighter at Soldier Creek. He loved music and was determined to teach himself how to play the guitar. He not only taught himself how to play the guitar, he learned the mandolin, the dobro, and a little of the fiddle. Services are 12pm Saturday at Vondel Smith South Colonial chapel.
