Bio

6/5/2005- The Daily Oklahoman: Ella Mae Carr Tucker "Jackie", "MaMa", "Lil grandma", was a woman of quiet strength, who went home to be with the Lord on 6/2/2005, at her home on Soldier Creek, Texoma Lake, where she resided for the last 30 years. Jackie was born in Alvoid, TX, 6/15/1923, to Thomas J. Carr & Lena McBroom Carr. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Tuttle, OK., which she always called her "little hometown". She and her husband, Mitch, met and married in Oklahoma City in 1946. Mitch and Jackie lived most of their adult life in Oklahoma City, until moving to Texoma Lake after retirement. They enjoyed traveling to favorite spots such as Beavers Bend, the Rio Grande Valley, and Colorado. Jackie was a dedicated Christian and a member of Agnew Avenue Baptist church in Oklahoma City, where she was involved in WMU and choir, teaching Sunday school and Bible school. In later years, she was a member of Lakeview Baptist church on Soldier Creek. She was a precious Mama to daughter Linda and son Kirk. Jackie shared a special relationship with her sister, Mary Beth; not just sisters, but best friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clarence Carr, and sisters, Ruth Huffhines, Mildred Kelley, & Lee Burger. She is survived by her husband, M.A. Tucker, son, Kirk Tucker, daughter, Linda McBride & husband Jim, sisters, Mamie Bozarth and Mary Praytor, and 3 grandchildren, Lance Irons & wife Tamra, Lana Irons, and Joe Cunningham & wife Savannah. Services will be held at 11am Monday, at Vondel Smith South Colonial chapel.
