R. D. Davis, 55, Dies in S'water Sweetwater - Ross Doyle Davis, Sr., 55, of 409 E. Arkansas, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday in Simmons Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for a week. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Highland Heights Methodist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Milton Jochetz, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Patterson Funeral Home. Born Dec. 26, 1912 in Granbury, he married Mary Francis Patton on Dec. 19, 1936 in Rotan. He moved to Sweetwater in 1937, was an employe and the time of his death was chief clerk of U. S. Gypsum Co. Survivors include his wife; one son, Ross Doyle Davis, Jr. of Alamogordo, N.M.; one daughter, Mrs. Larry Fosson of Fort Worth; three grandsons and one granddaughter; one brother, Kenneth of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Warren Frost of Dallas, Mrs. H. A. Strother and Mrs. A. H. Williams, both of Sweetwater.
