Ellen M. Kranzler, 92, of Boise, died Saturday at home. A Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 707 W. Fort St., Boise. Published in Idaho Statesman on June 8, 2016 - - - - - - - - - Ellen Margaret Kranzler 1923-2016 An angel got her wings and is now with her hero Alvin. Ellen Kranzler, 92, passed away on June 4, 2016 at home in Boise, Idaho. She was born on July 3, 1923 in St. Paul, Nebraska to George and Inger Glarborg. Her parents moved from Nebraska to Aberdeen, Idaho when Ellen was 13. She graduated from of Aberdeen High School in 1940. After high school she attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. Ellen met Alvin Kranzler at a Lutheran Youth Group gathering when she was 18. She and Alvin were married in 1942 in Paso Robles, California when he was drafted into the army. She worked in the laundry at Camp Roberts, California while he served in the Philippines. After his discharge, they settled in American Falls and raised their family. They were happily married for 59 years. Ellen's occupation was bookkeeping, beginning at Lamb Weston in American Falls, Idaho. She then owned and operated an H&R Block office in American Falls for many years. After moving to Boise in 1980 she worked for Junior Achievement. She retired in 1988. Ellen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise. She enjoyed scrabble, crossword puzzles, gardening and playing bridge. She was passionate about sewing quilt tops with the Immanuel quilt group. She loved cooking, baking and sewing for her family, and took pride in her authentic Danish recipes. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a very special place in her heart; she was so proud of all of them, and treasured her time spent with each of them, and the joy they brought to her. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Kranzler, her parents, George and Inger Glarborg, brothers Earl and wife Ethel, George and wife Eleanor, brother Arnold, and brother in law Stanley. Ellen is survived by her children: Dayna (William) Feher, Dagsboro, Delaware; Conrad Kranzler, Boise, Idaho; Mark (Sherrie) Kranzler, Pocatello, Idaho; Camille (John) Newcomb, Boise, Idaho; Anne (Gary) McDannel, Rigby, Idaho; her sisters Anna Adamek, Boise, Idaho and Bernice Jensen, Beresford, South Dakota, sister-in-law Estelle Glarborg; her grandchildren Jeff (Kim) Wolfenbarger, Mykeah Kranzler, Zachary Kranzler, Danielle (Zack) Smith, Carlee Kranzler, Mark (Heather)Bennett, Mason (Anna) Bennett, Morgan (Kristina) Bennett, Joshua (Miranda) McDannel and Adrianne (Jake) Burlile; and great grandchildren Isabel, Aven, Juin, Cal, Zada, Eden, Mira, Olivia, Anika, Luke, Michael, Noel, Adam, Jack, Brooklyn, Vincent, Lucy and many nieces and nephews. No words can express how wonderful Ellen was. Her kindness, understanding, forgiveness, generosity and compassion (& wit) will always be remembered. We love you so!
