Emmett L. Bennett, 72, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, in a local hospital. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Nolan Cemetery. He was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Mereta. An Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a retired meat inspector for the Texas Public Health Department. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Bennett of Stamford; a son, Lane Bennett of Warrensburg, Mo., three daughters, Beth Ann Hodges of Flower Mound, Kim Grover of Honolulu, and Jan George of Wilmore, Ky.; two stepsons, Glen Mason of Keller and Milton Martin of Phoenix; three stepdaughters, Debbie Johnson of Stamford, Brenda Robinson of Fairfield and Gaye St. Clair of Marysville, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Faye Simpson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; five grandchildren; none step grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
