Clara Mae Bennett, 84, of Nolan, died Sunday at a local hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McCoy Chapel of Memories with burial in Old Nolan Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett was born October 22, 1902, in Waco. She had lived in Nolan for 42 years and was a housewife. She was a member of the Mamie Crane Chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Emmett Bennett of Nolan; two daughters, Alma Bednar of Ozona and Dorothy Simpson of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son Emmett Bennett of Stamford; one sister, Faye Turner of San Angelo; two brothers, Lousi Whittle of San Angelo and Garnett Whittle of Goldthwaite; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. --San Angelo Standard-Times, July 7, 1987, page 2 Pallbearers: Bill Wilson, Mack Lee, Bobby Palmer, Jim Bristow, George Bair, David Linn Honorary Pallbearers: Elbert Simmons and Barron Bird
