Bio

Emmett Caves Bennett, 90, died Tuesday at an Ozona care center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with the Rev. Gregg Smith officiating. Burial will be in Old Nolan Cemetery in Divide. Born in Waco, he moved to Tom Green County in 1903 and to Nolan in 1945. He was a stock farmer, a member of Nolan Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Mamie D. Crane chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Alma B. Bednar of Ozona and Dorothy Simpson of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son Emmett Lofton Bennett of Nolan, six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
