s/o William Base and Lona Mae Dingus Salyer Billy Conrad Salyer CASTLEWOOD, VA— Billy Conrad Salyer, 77, died Wednesday (Feb. 2, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Coeburn, VA., and was the son of the late Willie B. and Lona Dingus Salyer. He graduated from Coeburn High School in 1946, Emory and Henry College, Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1951, and Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich., with a degree in accounting in 1962. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1993. He taught at Castlewood High School in 1954-1955. He was a member of Coeburn Baptist Church, Past Master and Life Member of the Northwood-Ancient Craft Masonic Lodge # 551 in Michigan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Preston G. Salyer and James R. Salyer. He is survived by his wife, Iva Castle Salyer; one stepson, Kerry Simpson and wife, Darcy of Buford, GA.; two sistersin- law, Betty Salyer of Coeburn, Va. and Elizabeth G. Dorris and husband Edward of Hendersonville, TN.; one brother-inlaw, Bernard Castle and wife, Deborah of Castlewood, VA.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews. Castlewood Funeral Home provided the services and burial in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA. “Billy’s” line is: Lona Mae Dingus, Henry C.
