Married Mary Blanche Beck, 2 Jan 1902, Alpine, Utah, Utah Obituary - Moroni A. Smith, 79 year old Utah, Wyoming and Colorado livestock man, died yesterday in a Salt Lake hospital. Smith, from 1895 until his recent retirement, had operated large sheep ranches in Wasatch, Duchesne and Uintah counties in Utah, in western Colorado and south-central Wyoming. At one time, Smith had 500,000 acres of Indian land under lease, as one of the first of the western sheepmen to use Indian range land under lease. Smith formerly was a director of the Utah Livestock Production Credit Assn., and was active in formation of national policies for livestock grazing on forest land.
