ETHEL MARIE COLEMAN MILLS, age 84, of Alvin, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Kozy Korner, Alvin, Texas. Marie was born on October 27, 1927 in LaRue, Texas and was a resident of the Alvin area for 66 years, formerly of Manvel. She was a member of the Pentecostal faith. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Mills; parents, Berry and Ethel Coleman; sister, Dorothy Coleman Thompson; brother, Berry L. Coleman; and grandsons, Derek Mills and John Cole Mills. Marie is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Cross and husband, Ronald; sons, Berry Mills and Johnny Mills and wife, Sarah; sister, Mary Coleman Floyd; brother, Leon Coleman; grandchildren, Jerun O'Hair, Lonnie McEntire, Meagan O'Hair, Jason Mills, Marla Van Winkle, Morgan Mills, Glory Mills, Ruben Mills and Rachel Mills; great-grandchildren, Cope McEntire, Steele McEntire, Slade O'Hair, Quentin Curtner, Violet Curtner and Alyse Ray Mills; and numerous other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff at Kozy Korner, staff of Hallmark Hospice and Lisa O'Brien, R.N. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Scott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Calvary Crossroads of Santa Fe, Texas, First United Methodist Church and Alvin Meals on Wheels. Arrangements under the direction of the Scott Family.
