Bio

Clydene Joy (Hargus) Reznicek passed away May 20, 2016 in her home in Jefferson City, Missouri after an extended period of failing health. Clydene was born on January 4, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruby Hargus of Marshfield, Missouri. After graduating form Marshfield High School, Clydene earned an RN degree from the Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri. On August 30, 1958, she married James Leon Reznicek of Ozark Missouri who preceded her in death. Clydene was a dedicated and loving mother, raising four sons while pursuing a full-time nursing career. Much of her career was spent as a head emergency room nurse. She finished her work as the head night nurse for the Biggs Psychiatric Hospital in Fulton, Missouri. Clydene enjoyed antiquing, collecting rocks and plants for her flowerbeds, and reading extensively. She adored music, especially jazz and blues, and she loved to sing. Clydene had a wonderful, quick wit and unconventional sense of humor that both surprised and delighted people. She said it was a privilege of age to be able to say exactly what she thought, and that is what she did! Clydene always had a story to tell, a song to sing, and love to give. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and large family. Clydene is survived by her brother Julian Hargus and his wife Linda of Jefferson City, Missouri; brother Stanley Hargus and his wife Linda of Seattle, Washington; sister Becky Yeubanks and her husband Mike of Fair Grove, Missouri; son Mike Reznicek of Jefferson City, Missouri; son Paul Reznicek and his wife Suzi of Dixon, Missouri; son Steve Reznicek of Jefferson City, Missouri; son Robert Reznicek and his wife Debby of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the Day Funeral Home in Marshfield, Missouri on Friday May 27, 2016 at 12:00 noon. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Internment will be in the Marshfield Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Published by Day Funeral Home May 22, 2016
