Bio

Zola Langford Zola Etoy Langford, 72, a longtime resident of Dimmitt, died at 6:55 p.m. Saturday in Plains Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ, with Dale Wells, minister, officiating. Burial was in Castro Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home. Mrs. Langford had lived in Castro County 46 years. Born in Olustee, Okla., she married Lawson Langford on Nov. 5, 1927, in Olton. They moved to Dimmitt in 1937. Mr. Langford, a carpenter, died in 1981. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by a son, Troy, of Dimmitt; two sisters, Ester Van Doern of Dimmitt and Bessie Tittle of Amherst; a brother, Lester Van Doern of Fletcher, Okla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were C.A. Wood, Edward Calhoun, Morton Powell, Bill Gregory, Melvin Summers and Lonnie Bell.
