"Marie K. Hoesing, age 88, of Fremont, Nebraska died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Fremont. Marie was born September 10, 1927 in Abie, Nebraska to Louis and Mary (Kulhanek) Marushak. She grew up in Abie and moved to Fremont and worked at JCPenney while attending Fremont High School. After graduation she worked at Gambles Warehouse as a secretary and also at Hormel’s until her marriage to Ed Hoesing at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont on April 28, 1952. Marie was a fulltime homemaker. She worked as a secretary at Linden Elementary School for several years and then retired. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, she volunteered in the lunchroom for Archbishop Bergan Schools, and worked the Election Board for Dodge County for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and shopping. She is survived by her husband, Ed of Fremont; son, Steve (Rita) Hoesing of Colleyville, Texas; daughters, Susanne (Max, Jr.) Woods of Fremont, Sherrie (Jerry) Peek of West Des Moines, Iowa and Sandy (Blase) Biga of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Katherine; brothers, Alvin, Irvin and Roman Marushak; and sister, Lucille Scott. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Father Ron Battiato will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 PM to 6 PM with family receiving friends and a Rosary at 6 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Bergan General Endowment Fund." Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N. Somers Avenue, Fremont, Nebraska 68025.
