Minnie Jones Waldrop Minnie Jones Waldrop, 88, of Sweetwater, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. A family visitation was held Tuesday evening, May 25, at McCoy Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Rayburn Blair and Rev. Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will follow at Slaters Chapel Cemetery in Nolan under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Waldrop was born March 20, 1916, in Burnet County. She married Robert F. Jones June 2, 1932, in Nolan and he passed away in 1974. She married Glenn Waldrop in 1979, and he passed away in December 1985. Waldrop was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. She was born in Burnet County and moved to Nolan when she was 10 years old. Waldrop was then a member of the Nolan Baptist Church. She then moved to Robert Lee and became a member of Pecan Baptist Church there with her second husband, Glenn Waldrop. After, Glenn died, she moved to Sweetwater in 1994. Survivors include one daughter, June Ellis and husband, Hollis of Sweetwater; one son, John R. Jones of Austin; four stepsons, David, Richard, Keith and Riley Waldrop; two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Louise Davis; a twin sister, Winnie Waldrop; and one grandson, Robert M. Jones. Pallbearers will be Glenn Barton, James Earl Jones, Roy Dearl Jones, Jeff Waldrop, Willis Hammonds and Riley Waldrop. From THE SWEETWATER REPORTER * * * * * *
