The Anaconda Standard (MT), 14 Feb 1898 Death of Rocco Campana. An Old-Time Citizen and Prosperous Businessman Rocco Campana, an old-time citizen and prosperous businessman of Butte, died yesterday succumbing to a paralytic stroke. Mr. Campana was a native of Switzerland, but came to this country early and for nearly 15 years had been in the grocery business in West Park street in this city. Mr. Campana was in apparently good rugged health and only 46 years of age. He leaves a wife and nine children, all of whom are in Butte, except the oldest son who is attending college in Switzerland. Mr. Campana has six brothers, two of whom reside in Butte, one is in South America, and three in Switzerland. He was a leading member of the A.O.U.W., I.O.O.F., and Improved Order of the Red Man. --- The Anaconda Standard (MT), 16 Feb 1898 Funeral of Mr. Campana The remains of Rocco Campana were buried yesterday in the Catholic cemetery. The funeral, which was under the auspices of the A.O.U.W. was held from the family residence at 511 West Park street at 2:30 in the afternoon. There were no services at the house and the body was escorted directly to the cemetery, where the burial service of the A.O.U.W. was performed.
