Bio

Louise Mary Burks, 93, died Sept. 4, 2015, while convalescing at her daughter’s home in Las Vegas after a fall. At her passing Louise was surrounded by her daughter and her two caring grandchildren. She was born April 9, 1922, to Edward and Carrie Heil) Lefever in Rockville. Louise received her education in the Rockville and Loup City area. Louise was a cook for many years, working at the Manhattan Cafe, the Yancey Hotel, Parmer Hotel, Eagles and the Conoco Cafe. Louise is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Sharon Chop of Ravenna, James and Vickie Burks of Denver, Colo., Lee and Deanna Burks of Blue Eye, Mo., William and Veronica of Grand Island; a daughter, Melinda Rabender of Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russel Lefever of Axtell. and Glen Lefever of Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild. She is now preceded by three brothers as Glen Lefever passed away in March of 2016. Louise loved letters and pictures. In lieu of flowers we ask that you bring a small note or picture to leave with Louise. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Highland Cemetery in Ravenna (north end section #2).
