Mrs. Bennett Rites Today At Roscoe Roscoe - Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Methodist Church here for Mrs. Edna Mae Bennett, 92, resident of Roscoe since 1922. She died at 12:45 a.m. Friday in the Morris Nursing Home here where she had been a resident since 1961. Officiating will be the Rev. C. Richard LeMond, pastor of First Methodist, and J. B. Hudson, minister of the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery under direction of Wells Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chubby Johnson, T. A. Singleton, Harold Haynes, Johnny Gilmore, Oliver Young and Hark Haney. Born May 20, 1874 in Atlanta, Ga., she came to Texas with her parents as a two-year-old child, settling at Cottonwood in Callahan County. She married R. W. Bennett on March 16, 1890 in Callahan County and they moved to Roscoe in 1922. He died Sept. 4, 1945. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. J. A. Holdridge of Deming, N.M., Mrs. Joe Rowland of Roscoe, Mrs. Effie Faulkenberry of Denver City and Mrs. E. A. Kreidel of Azle; two sons, Homer and Golden Bennett, both of Roscoe; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
