Services for Nellie Plummer, 91, of Diana will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana, with Dan Manual and Bro. Lance Sims officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Interment will be at Walnut Creek Cemetery. She passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 in Longview. Nellie was born August 25, 1924 in Harleton, Texas to Otis Hugh and Beucie Smith. She was the former owner/operator of the Ore City Florist where she made many friends over the years. Nellie was a life-long member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Paula and Garry Ormes, Sr., grandchildren: Kandyce Ormes and Garry Ormes, Jr., brother: Dr. A.L. “Bo” Smith, sisters: Bonnie Bassham and Carolyn Reeves, sister-in-law: Helen Smith, beloved friends including the “best neighbors in the world,” Karl and Jackie Jenkins. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents Otis Hugh and Beucie Smith, husband of 57 years and 364 days, Lavern Plummer, brother: Louie G. “Bubba” Smith, sister: Jean Willeford, brother-in-law: B. A. Plummer and sister-in-law: Elma Covin. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 6 to 8 P.M. at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
