J.D.Ponder Funeral services for J.D.Ponder ,65,of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2 p.m.Thursday ,Sept 11 ,at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Revs.Larry Baxley and Abe Wilds officiating . Burial will follow in Reilly Springs Cemetery with P.J.Ponder ,Bill Sidebottom ,David Nichols ,Junior Gregg ,Larry Clark,Henry Stone , Gary Mills ,and Jimmy Don Burns serving as pallbearers .Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Bob Ponder,Mickey Ledbetter ,Gary Bailey ,Kerry Bailey ,Fred Fisher and Tommy Crofford . No formal Visitation is Scheduled . Mr. Ponder died at 4 p.m. Monday Sept.8 , at Hospice Homplace in Tyler . He was born April 9, 1938,in Reilly Springs ,to Duval and Reba Mae Stunkard Ponder. He married Carol Elizabeth Wilds on Feb.5,1965,in Emory . She survives .Mr.Ponder was retired from the Texas Department of Highways .He was a non-denominational Messianic Believer . He had been a member of the United States Army Reserve . Other Survivors included one son ,Ernest Lee Ponder of Sulphur Springs ;one daughter ,Lee Ann Crofford of Yantis ;two sisters ,Ann Minyard and Bobbie Durr ,both of Reilly Springs ;and five grandchildren ;Jacob Jones Geneva Ponder ,Victoria Dorse ,Brittani Crofford ,and Starlynn James Ponder . Mr.Ponder was preceded in death by one sister ,Frances Gusmus . Sulphur Springs News Paper
