Mabel Dobrovsky 78 of Ord died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heartland Assembly of God Church in Ord with Rev. Thomas Burkholder officiating. Burial will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mabel E. Dobrovsky was born February 1, 1938 at LaMar, Missouri to Arthur and Bernice (Owens) Brown. She was raised at Sargent, Nebraska and received her education there. On September 21, 1955 Mabel was united in marriage to Albin Dobrovsky. Albin and Mabel moved to a small farm north of Ord in 1977. Mabel continued to live there after Albin passed away in 2002. Mabel was employed with SGS as a secretary for 21 years until her passing. She loved working and serving the customers. Mabel was a helping hand where ever needed. Mabel’s love of cattle and animals was a lifelong joy. She enjoyed any type of orphan animal. She bottle fed everything imaginable. Patience and her nurturing spirit will continue on her small farm. Mable was a member of the Heartland Assembly of God Church; the VFW Auxiliary. She was active with Community Light for hurting families. Mabel helped many people behind the scene. She opened her home to many people throughout the years. Hobbies Mabel enjoyed were wood crafts,gardening, old hymns, and playing card. She had a special bond with her great grandchildren. She was known as “there” GG. Family time with Adam and LaRissa, Eric and Jen was top in her book. She enjoyed the family breakfasts on Sundays. Survivors include a daughter and son in law Val and Steve Lytle; two sisters Joyce Shafer of Alda and Joy Brown of Cozad; four Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Bernice (Owens) Brown; her husband Albin; a son Vincent; one infant son; a sister Jeanette Mach.
