Obituary for Ruby R. Johnson Funeral services for Ruby R. Johnson will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2015, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home, with Bro. Dale Poe officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Melder. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Ruby R. Johnson, 81 of Alexandria, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Rapides Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by mother, Lacy Gillespie; 2 brothers, Dale White and Jr. Gillespie; and her son-in-law, Johnny Ray Gypin. Ruby was a retired caregiver, who enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. In her early years she enjoyed gardening, quilting and bowling. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish her memory are her six children, Doris Gypin of Boyce, Catherine Deville (Harold) of Alexandria, Frank Johnson (Grace) of Calcasieu, Ronald Johnson of Alexandria, Perry Johnson of Alexandria, and Delores "Dee-Dee" Johnson of Alexandria; her brothers, Eddie Gillespie of Tioga, and Kenneth Gillespie (Doris Ann) of Glenmora; her sisters, Judy Gillespie of Ball, and Geraldine Gillespie of Pineville. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Johnny Gypin, Joshua Gypin, Jarrod Gypin, Nicholas Gypin, Jeremy Johnson, Winnie Crooks, Joshua LaCaze and Jim Schlotterbeck. The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington House and the nurses in the ICU at Rapides Regional Medical Center, for the love and compassion given to Mrs. Johnson during her illness. www.Kramerfunerals.com.
