Bio

CO D 75 OHIO INF Civil War Son of Aaron McDaniel and Martha Crawford . Samuel enlisted in December of 1861. He was granted an honorable discharge at the battle of Mt. Airy, Virginia, April 13, 1862, after he lost his left leg. In 1881, he came to Clinton Twp., Vernon Co., WI. Married Lydia Hoisington on Dec. 18, 1881. Their children: Thomas Shelton McDaniel James McDaniel Nora McDaniel McDonald Rose McDaniel McElhose Carl McDaniel Effie McDaniel DeWitt Frances McDaniel Stoikes Maude McDaniel Perkins Lewis Eugene McDaniel Samuel married Lucinda E. Mossholder on July 4, 1894.
