Bio

Irene B. Lenart passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope, Texas, with the Rev. Anthony G. Rauschuber and Msgr. Frank Miller as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Irene Ann was born near Penelope, Texas, to the late Ben Beseda and Anna Urbis Beseda, the youngest of their four children and their only daughter. She attended Griffin and Penelope schools. During her early twenties, she lived in Waco and worked at the Weston Bakery. She married Anton E. "Tony" Lenart on Oct. 26, 1948, in Penelope. She was a lifelong member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope and a member of the Altar Society. God blessed her with a quiet peace that she shared with all those she loved. She found great contentment in her role as a full-time homemaker to her husband and four children. Family unity was very important in her life and she stressed this to all her children and grandchildren. Irene and her husband were Polka music enthusiasts throughout their married life. They enjoyed traveling throughout Texas and many states attending Polka dances and festivals, where they made many friends through the years. She is preceded in death by brothers: Raymond, Ben, and Andrew Beseda. Survivors include her husband of almost 58 years, Tony; daughters, Charlotte Carter and her husband, Rae, of Waco, and JoAnn Kaluza and her husband, Anton, of West; sons, Dennis Lenart and his wife, Pam, of Chalk Bluff, and Kenny Lenart and his wife, Sharon, of Abbott; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
