Here is his obituary to check information with: The Austin Daily Herald (Austin, MN) Tue., Feb. 7, 1984, pg. 2 1919 Leonard (Ole) Hollerud 1984 Leonard was born Sept. 27, 1919 on his family farm located in Nevada Township, the son of John and Linnea Hollerud. He grew up on the family farm and attended Pinehurst Union and Lyle Public School. Leonard was baptized at his home and confirmed at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church. His hobbies were gardening, caring and feeding animals. Leonard served in the U.S. Army and fought in WWII. Leonard married Ruth Swain. To this union five children were born. He was employed 38 years with Hormel before retiring in 1981. Leonard passed away Jan. 30, 1984 at St. Olaf Hospital. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Ronnie James. Leonard is survived b y a son, three daughters and six grandchildren. The funeral was held Feb. 2 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Six Mile Grove this spring.
