Abilene Reporter - 26 Apr 1939 CISCO, April 26 - Funeral for E O Hendricks, 57, member of the city police department, who died at 11:15 Mondy night was to be held from the First Methodist church here Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev M H Aplewhite, Sweetwater pastor and former chaplain of the Cisco police department will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery here with the Neil Lane Funeral home of Cisco in charge. Mr Hendricks was born in Alabama January 10, 1882. He came to Cisco in 1907 and the following year went into the retail gasoline and oil business, an occupation in which he remained until seven years ago when he joined the city police department. Pall bearers were to be K H Pittard, Tom Stark, George Atkins, Ed Huestis, J T Elliott and Jewel Poe. Honorary pall bearers were to be members of the police department and city employees. Besides his widow, he is survived by one brother, C C Hendricks of Dallas, and one sister, Mrs Nettie Meadow of Hico.
