Iva Dee (Wilhoite) Collins, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Ennis, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015, at J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. in Ennis, Texas. A celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015, in Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Michael McCracken officiating. Iva Dee was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Orborn D. and Ethel (Lewis) Wilhoite. She was reared in Ennis, attending Ennis Schools. On July 4, 1941, she married George H. Collins and they made their home in Ennis. Besides being a wife and mother, Iva worked for Fallen Electric (Ennis Automotive) for a total of 30 years. She retired as a Supervisor. Iva Dee was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis and she enjoyed gardening and crafts. Being talented with crafts, Iva always decorated the house for every holiday season! She was preceded in death by her husband, George Collins; brothers: Ralph, Raymond, Loyd, James, Bobby, and Joe Roy; and sisters, Irene and Laura Belle. Survivors include her sons, Dean Collins, and his wife, Linda, and Harvey Collins, and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Norma Coleman and her husband, Glenn; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
