Ima Gearlene "Gerry" Young Ima Gearlene "Gerry" Young, 55, died near the Decker community Thursday, Dec. 29. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in McCoy Funeral Home's Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Patton of Hillsboro officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. She was born June 26, 1933 in Buffalo, and married Frank Elmer Young on June 2, 1951 in Sweetwater. She had resided in Sweetwater since 1948 and was a member of Nolan Baptist Church. She was a licensed vocational nurse, working at Simmons Hospital for 10 years and in Family Planning at the City-County Health Unit for 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Frank Sr.; a daughter, Cindy Lara of San Angelo; three sons, Frank Young, Jr. of Roscoe, Ron Young of Lubbock and Ricky Young of Vernon; a sister, Jo Ann Lambert of Mount Pleasant; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Brad Young, Kelly Estes, Wendell Wade, Randy Merket and Sam Young.
