L. P. Montgomery, Sweetwater, Dies Sweetwater - Lawrence P. Montgomery, 54, died at 3 p.m. Thursday in Simmons Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient one day. He had been ill about three weeks. Born Jan. 4, 1904 in Sweetwater, he married the former Effie Wright 33 years ago in Sweetwater. Mr. Montgomery was a stockman. Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Cate-Spencer Chapel with Dwayne Evans, minister of Lamar St. Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lawrence, Jr. and Jerry Mac, both of Sweetwater, and John (Bud) Montgomery of Midland; his mother, Mrs. Della Montgomery of Sweetwater; and seven grandchildren.
