Evelyn Rerich Kloesel of Weimar passed away on April 12. Born on December 12, 1926, to Emil Rerich and Ludmilla (Heger) Rerich, she lived most of her life in Weimar. After graduating as Salutatorian of the Weimar High School Class of 1944, Evelyn headed to Sanderson where she worked for Southern Pacific Railroad. Upon her return to Weimar, she married Eugene Kloesel on February 9, 1948. Evelyn enjoyed being a homemaker, mom and community volunteer. Never to let grass grow under her feet, she led a very active life. Throughout the years, she was a member of many organizations. Belonging to the Catholic Daughters of America for more than 50 years, she served as Regent several times, District Deputy and most recently, made rosaries to be sent overseas along with serving on many other committees throughout her membership. As an active member of the St. Michael, Bishop Forest and Weimar High School PTA's and American Legion Auxiliary, she made lifelong friends. On any given day, you could find her enjoying time with the Red Hat Ladies, Canasta Club, Chicken Foot Domino group or Literary Guild. Volunteering at the Weimar Museum, Food Pantry or St. Michael Church and School also gave her great joy. Evelyn's home was always open to family and friends. You were sure to be offered something delicious as not only did she love to bake, she spent many hours in the kitchen canning fruits and vegetables to be given to her family and friends. Attending activities of her children and grandchildren were always on the top of her list, whether it be kindergarten or college.
