COLONEL ROY WILLIAM AMICK Col. U.S.A.F. retired Roy William Amick, artist and photographer, age 90. DEATH: February 4, 2006, in Pueblo, Colorado. BIRTH: November 23, 1915, in Whiteflat, Texas, to Robert W. Amick and Letha (Hines) Amick. MILITARY: Enlisted in the U.S. Army AC, January 29, 1941, at Lubbock, Texas. He retired April 1, 1973, after 32 years of active service. Col. Amick was a highly decorated military officer serving during WWII in Italy, and also in Korea and Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star and numerous awards and medals. EDUCATION: Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wright State University in 1979. MEMBER: Dayton (Ohio) Society of Painters and Sculptors from 1974-1979. Col. RELOCATION: Dayton, Ohio, to Pueblo, Colorado in 1981. PAST MEMBER AND PRESIDENT: Southern Colorado Photography Society. Member of the Pueblo Art Guild. PRECEDED IN DEATH by parents Robert and Letha Amick, brothers Louis and Howard, sister Bobby, and daughter Rosemary Stecco. AMONG SURVIVORS: Wife Madeleine (King) Amick of Pueblo, son Stephen Amick and fiancée Patricia Brown of Saugus, California, grandsons Aaron Amick, Brent Amick (Heather) of Santa Clarita, California, son-in-law Kurt Stecco (Karen) of Pueblo, granddaughters Michelle and Jessica of Pueblo, sister Juanita Amonette of Lamesa, Texas. VISITATION AND ROSARY: Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. FUNERAL MASS: Holy Family Church. INTERMENT: Veterans Court of Honor Section at Imperial Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
