Husband of Sarah Isbell and father of Rebecca Melissa Hughes Crocker Moses moved from South Carolina to Georgia about 1827. He stayed there two years and moved to Alabama. He enlisted at Bellefonte, Alabama to fight in the Seminole Indian War October 26, 1837. As a result of his War service, Moses was qualified to apply for 80 acres of bounty land in Mississippi in 1852 and sometime thereafter moved from Alabama to Layfayette Co, Mississippi. Moses was living with his daughter Rebecca Crocker and her husband Elias Crocker when he died. He is buried at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery along with many other close relatives
