Bio

Services for Samuel Hoyte Walkup, 75, were held in the First Methodist Church in Childress. Mr. Walkup had been a resident of Cottle County since 1898 when he came to this area with his parents. He died at the family home in Kirkland. The Childress Masonic Lodge had charge of the graveside rites. For many years, he was a farmer and church leader in the Tennessee Valley community. He was a member of the Goodlett Methodist Church and a past district steward of Methodist churches in the area. Paducah Post December 26, 1963 Son of Sally Elrod and George E Walkup.
