Irene Emily Wesely, passed away on Feb. 10, 2013. Irene Emily Sabata was born in David City on Nov. 1, 1929, All Saints Day. To her family, Irene lived the life of a saint. Irene was married on June 8, 1953 to Raymond Wesely. Kind, caring and giving, Irene was the mother of four children: Don Wesely, Jim Wesely, Dave Wesely and Linda Wesely Johnson. Don Wesely has three children: Sarah who is married to Jay Steinkruger, Amanda and Andrew Wesely; Jim and Kathy Pokorny Wesely have three children: Jeremy who married Stephanie Pankonin and they have two children, Caleb and Lydia; Joel who married Melanie Kouma and they have three children, Lillian, Kaily, and Gianna. Kendra who is now Sister Mary Faustina of the School Sisters of Christ the King. Dave and Sue Greb Wesely have five children: Katie who married Sacha Lemke and have three children, Harm, Luisa and Henry; Dan who married Shelagh Meade and have one child, Ada. Mike, Corey and Jeff Wesely. Linda Wesely married Alan Johnson. Irene Wesely was the mother of four, grandmother of 11 grandchildren and the great grandmother of nine great grandchildren. Irene Wesely loved and was devoted to her family. With her giving nature and thoughtfulness she would help her family in any way she could. She loved playing cards especially Pitch. She loved garage sales and collecting collectibles. She was masterful at baking kolaches, strudel, and other Czech delicacies. She loved drinking instant coffee but always with cream. She loved to laugh and say random things to amuse herself, her family and friends. Her death is a great loss to her family. We cherished her unselfishness and sacrifice for us and others. With her kind heart and gentle soul Irene Wesely's life was filled with love. Funeral on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at St. John the Apostle Church in Lincoln. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
