Mass of Christian Burial for Mike F. Sindelar, Jr. age 94 of Howells, NE will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, NE with interment in St. John's Nepomucene Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 2:30 to 8 p.m., with at Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7 p.m, and will continue on Tuesday from 9 a.m. till service time. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sindelar passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson, NE. Mike Frank Sindelar, Jr. was born February 19, 1917 at Howells, NE to Mike Conrad Sindelar, Sr. and Mary Svitak. He received all of his sacraments at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, NE. Mike attended Stanton County Rural School District #41. He began farming with his father and uncle northwest of Howells. On September 26, 1939, he was united in marriage to Vlasta Dvorak at Holy Trinity Catholic Church-Heun. The couple farmed four and one-half miles northwest of Howells for 37 years before moving into Howells. Mike continued farming with his sons into his 80's. He was a life member of St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells and served on its Building Committee, helped form and was treasurer for the Stanton County Telephone Company, and served as treasurer on the Howells Public Schools Bus Board. He loved working in his shop modifying anything so that it would work a little better, and tending to his livestock. He and Vlasta enjoyed traveling and tending to their garden and apple trees after moving into town. The couple had celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2008. Survivors include- Children- Ervin and wife D'Ete Sindelar of Clarkson, NE Marian and husband Dale Ring of Sheridan, WY Veronica and husband Don Flamme of Howells, NE Michael and wife Lois Sindelar of Howells, NE 11 Grandchildren 22 Great-Grandchildren 3 Step Great-Grandchildren Brother-Stanley and wife Wilma Sindelar of Howells, NE Sister in law-Alice Sindelar of West Point, NE He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Vlasta on June 1, 2009, sister-Agnes Belina, and brother- Albin Sindelar.
