Melvin H. Szwanek Aug. 22, 1927 Jul. 4, 2015 Resident of Richmond Melvin H. Szwanek "Paga" was born August 22, 1927 in Ord, Nebraska and passed away on July 4, 2015 of natural causes. Melvin was a proud Navy veteran, he served during WW II and the Korean War. He was a longtime Richmond resident and attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in San Pablo. He retired from the University of California, Berkeley and his true passion was woodworking. He is survived by sons Melvin Jr., Richard, Daryle; daughters Judy, Mary, Carole, Kathy; grandchildren Ryan, Alicia, Nicole, John, Eric, Kiyera, Jesse, Gabriella; great grandchildren Gabriel, Giselle, Kijon, and Adrian. Viewing to be held Thursday, July 16th, 2015 from 4-8 pm at Wilson & Kratzer, 455 24th St., Richmond, Ca 94804. Graveside Services the following day Friday, July 17, 2015 at 1 pm at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, Ca 95610.
