Bio

` James Roberts Felts was born on July 23, 1893 in Cheatham County, Tennessee, the son of Joseph Nathaniel Felts (1865-1952) and Mary Elizabeteh (Edwards) Felts (1865-1950). [NOTE: Although his Death Certificate has his birth year as 1892, his World War I Draft Registration card has 1894 as does the Social Security Index. However, he had a Delayed Birth Record, and that has his birth year as 1893.] He was married to Bessie Mai Hunter (1901–1991). A "buildings carpenter" and living at 919 Delmas Street, Nashville, he was in his mid-60s and married when he died of aortic insufficiency on May 2, 1957 at Nashville's VA Hospital. Although his Death Certificate does not have where he was buried, when his wife applied for a US Military Headstone , the application listed Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Nashville as the destination for the headstone.
